Evan Vists with Grammie and Pappy G

We had a wonderful time with Evan on Saturday, He spent the whole day with us. We had so much fun with him. We missed him last week when he was with his Mommy and Daddy on a trip to Madison, Wisconsin. We noticed some develomental changes he has made. Evan is crawling (his style) and is able to sit from a crawling position. When he woke up from his nap, Evan was sitting in the crib just looking around. Evan likes to stand at furniture but does not yet pull himself up to stand. When placed in a standing position at the couch or a chair, Evan can stand for several minutes and really likes it. Evan now eats a fruit and a vegetable at lunch and dinner. He is a growing boy. Evan also imitates sounds. One that cracked me up was a lion roar that he imitated from Pappy G. The more I laughed, the more Evan roared. As Evan played today, he saw his reflection in the mirror and gave it several kisses. Too cute!!!!

The Next Generation

Today is Evan's Uncle Zach's 30th birthday. Happy Birthday, Uncle Zach!!!! Evan is sitting in the highchair that Uncle Zach used and Evan's Mommy. This wooden highchair is almost an antique---- almost 30 years old. I remember how excited we were when we found this highchair. Of course, it does not compare to the highchairs of today, however, it is filled with many memories. Evan does not seem to mind that it is old. He is just happy to get his food.

Great -Grandpa and Evan

During Pappy G's birthday party, Evan is cuddling with Great-Grandpa Gerry. Great-grandpa is singing Twiddle dee Twiddle Dum to Evan. What a precious moment!!!

Party Fun

We had the pool filled for the kids today for Pappy's birthday party. Here is Evan sitting up in the pool. Just last month, Grammie had to sit in the pool with Evan to support him. Now he sits in the pool and splashes and kicks. He loves it when J and M jump in the pool and splash him.

Pappy G's Birthday

What wonderful family time we had on Sunday for Pappy G's (Dad or Gerry) birthday!! The weather was perfect. We gathered on the patio and ate and chatted to Aunt Bon Bon, Uncle Cha Cha, Grandpa Gerry, Grandma Claire, Terence, Alisson, M, J, and Evan. Uncle Zach and Aunt Laurie were in our thoughts. They had called earlier in the day to wish Gerry a Happy Birthday. Of course, the party was for Evan's Pappy, however, as always, Evan is the center of attention. All praise and thanks to God for our family and the precious times we have together.

Evan Talking

Evan is so cute when he talks. One can understand Da Da, MaMa, NiNi (night night) and bye. This morning he said Nana to me. I do not know where that came from. I always refer to myself as Grammie. I told Alisson that it is fine whatever Evan calls me. I thought maybe Grammie would be Gammie. Who knows... I may be a Nana.

Evan in the Tub

Pappy came home as I was giving Evan a bath. He immediately got the camera and had to take a picture of Evan in the bathtub.

Evan and the Rocking Chair

Our good friend Kathy's daughter, Heather, gave us an oak rocking chair to keep at our house for Evan. Heather's children have outgrown it. What a special gift!!! Evan really likes sitting in the rocker. As Kathy said, "One day he will sit in the rocking chair and read books." We are so blessed by having wonderful friends and family.

Squeaky Clean Evan

Here is Evan right after his bath and just wearing his diaper. He still has to get his pajamas on. He smells so good and is so cute. We so love our time with him and are so thankful that Alisson and Terence are so very willing to share Evan with us.

Bath Time

Since Evan no longer needs the baby bathtub, he can have a bath at Grammie and Pappy G's house. He loves his bath. He plays with his boat, duck, and fish mirror on the bathtub. Evan likes to kick his feet and splash in the bathtub. This picture was taken right after he got out of the bathtub and Grammie is holding him. He is all wrapped up in his frog towel that Aunt Bon Bon and Uncle Cha Cha gave him.

Saturday with Evan

Alisson and Terence were helping a friend move into his new house today. So, we had Evan and Jeremy over for a visit. Grammie's friend Meg stopped over to see Evan. She said, "Tell Alisson and Terence that Evan is a good mix of both of them." She wanted to skip work and play with Evan. He tends to have that influence on people. In this photo Evan is beginning to crawl. He "commando crawls" but does move his legs. He gets into everything now by either rolling and/or "crawling." He is discovering new things at our house. Evan is on the move. Evan is wearing Pappy G's favorite outfit---The Cleveland Indians. He is still an Indians' fan even though they are in last place!

Evan and Pappy G

Evan loves to play with Pappy G. He loved playing "Bouncy Bouncy" with Pappy. Evan gave hearty laughs and he would bounce on Pappy's belly a little to tell he wanted more. It was wonderful hearing him laugh so much. Evan still considers Pappy G the really fun grandparent.

Smiley Evan

Evan was with us for awhile tonight. We had a lot of fun with him. Grammie even called Uncle Zach so he could hear Evan "talking." When I said, "Let's go bye bye," it sounded like Evan said "car." He says "ball" (actually "buh")when he is playing with a ball. He has started to make kissing sounds but he doesn't know he is kissing, however, Grammie says, "Kiss" everytime he makes the sound. Evan really likes to "talk" on the phone. It almost seems like he is carrying on a conversation with Aunt Bon Bon or Uncle Cha Cha. He is just too cute!!! So sorry that I have not had posts recently. We had to get a new computer so I was out of commission for a few days.

Evan Playing

Evan really enjoys playing with all of his toys. This picture looks like he is waving, however, he is asking for a toy I have.

Evan LIkes His Stroller

Here is Evan getting ready to go for a walk with Grammie. He really likes to go for walks. We stop and talk to neighbors and Evan smiles at everyone.

Hi from Evan

Hello Family and Friends,
I am now 7 months old. I have 4 teeth-- 2 on the bottom, 2 on the top and I am getting 2 more teeth coming in on the top. I weigh 18 pounds now. I say Da-Da and I jabber different sounds a lot. I can scoot backwards and I am really trying to go forward. Grammie puts her hands out for me and I try so hard to get to her, but it just isn't happening yet. It is easier for me to just roll all over the place. I am eating the 2nd stage baby foods. Last night, I had vegetables and fruit for dinner. I am a growing boy. Thursday, I was at Grammie's. We went for a walk and she gave me a bath. I really like my baths!!! I am drinking water from a sippy cup and I hold on to the handles. My Grammie made up a song about me--- "We love our litlle Evan, a gift straight from Heaven, Evan is our grandson, With him we have so much fun". Grammie sings to me a lot. I like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, the ABC's, and nursery rhyme songs. I like to turn the pages in board books. I can pick up a small plastic ball and hold on to it. I really like to sit outside and watch the birds and listen for airplanes. I have fun with Grammie and Pappy G.
Love,
Evan
P.S. I will let you know when I start crawling.

Evan's First Block Party

On the fourth of July, Evan and his family attended his First Block Party in our neighborhood. Evan was dressed in his Cleveland Indians outfit and ball cap. He was a stylin'. Grammie showed him to all of the neighbors. Evan even "talked" to some. When Alisson and Terence arrived, Alisson said, "Terence asked if we should bring the carrier and who should wear it." Alisson answered, "I'm sure my mom will have Evan most of the time. SHE WAS RIGHT!!!! It was nice to have all of the family with us. I did the kids' games... an obstacle course, sack race, three-legged race and water balloons. All had fun. We had 46 neighbors attending. We love our neighborhood. That is the real reason we have never moved from our first home that we had built for us. We are very blessed to have good neighbors or actually friends. It was nice to have Evan meet all of these great people.

Thursday Night Sleepover

We had a busy but fun Thursday night and Friday norning. We gave Alisson and Terence and early anniversary gift-- a night at the Belamere Suites with watching the kiddos. We had Evan, J and M for a sleepover. It went great!!! Grammie had an assembly line of baths, shower, and pajamas. I told M that we were having a crazy Thursday--- pajamas first and then pizza. Pappy G went to get pizzas while I did baths for Evan and J and M wanted a shower. Evan sat at the table with us as we ate pizza. He is just waiting for the time when he can eat regular food. Evan went to sleep at 7:30pm and woke up at 6:30am. After watching the movie Ice Age that we recorded and eating popcorn. J and M had cereal and donuts and Evan had rice cereal and his bottle. Evan took his power nap at 9;00 so Grammie then helped J and M get dressed. Evan watched J and M kick the soccer ball around in the backyard. When they were leaving I asked M, "Did you have just an OK time or a fun time?" She said, "A fun time." It was fun!!! I am thankful that Gerry was not working today.

Evan Visiting with Grammie and Pappy G

Evan visited with us on Wednesday for a couple of hours. He played and then Grammie gave him a bath. He sits up now in the bathtub and does not use his baby bathtub. Of course, Grammie held onto him the whole time. Here are two photos from Wednesday night--- one Evan just being cute and then other after bathtime and Evan is playing. Once again, Evan watched Pappy G mow the lawn. We are working on having Evan wave. So, everytime Pappy went by us, Pappy would wave and Grammie helped Evan wave. I think he was more interested in the lawn mower. He really followed it with his eyes. Thank you God for the times we have with Evan and thank You for blessing us with the precious little boy.

Evan is HOME!!!!

Evan and his family arrived home from Myrtle Beach late Sunday night. I was able to have Evan over today for a couple of hours. I noticed several developmental changes in him. I had not seen him in 8 days. Evan is starting to creep around on the floor to get toys. He used to just roll around to get something. He is, also, making more sounds to communicate. He definitely has Da-Da down. Evan seemed to have more hair and it was longer. Of course, he had a tan. Evan seems bigger, too. Alisson said he was wearing a 12 month outfit today. Evan was 7 months old on June 25. Pappy G and I got Evan a Cleveland Indians romper for a Welcome Back Home gift. I am so glad I bought 12 months. I was worried that maybe he would not want to come to me after being away so many days. As soon as I picked him up, he put his head on my shoulder and played with my hair. He knew his Grammie!!! Yeah!!!

Cool Evan

Evan is a cool dude wearing the Spiderman shades that Grammie and Pappy G got him for his trip to the beach. I love this picture!!!
Thanks so much to Terence and Alisson for sending me these photos!!!!

Evan in the Pool

Evan looks like he is just lounging in the pool. I know he has had a lot of fun this week.

Evan and Mommy

Here is Evan and Mommy having fun in Myrtle Beach. I will see Evan in 3 more days!!!! Who is counting??!!

Evan on Vacation

So sorry that I have not added new posts recently. Evan has been vacationing with his family at Myrtle Beach. Alisson and Terence just emailed me photos so I do have some new ones to show you of Evan. Alisson said that Evan really liked the ocean as you can see in this photo of Evan with his Daddy.

Evan --- Our Precious Grandson

This picture was taken on Evan's last evening with us as he slept for the night. He is such a sweet, precious, little boy.

Evan Likes Books

Evan likes to be read to. In this photo he is looking at the book "From Head to Toe" by Eric Carle, one of Grammie's favorite authors. He really enjoyed looking at books this past week.

Evan and Grammie

I so enjoyed my time with Evan this week. This picture was taken to show that I am still happy after having Evan for 5 days and 5 nights. He was my little buddy. I am going to miss him a lot next week as he is vacationing with his family. I am so proud of Alisson after my week with Evan. I am amazed by the wonderful job she does with Evan (6mos.), J(almost 3) and M (4)--- I felt so busy just with Evan and she takes care of all three beautifully.

What a Big Boy!!!

This was taken just after Evan woke up from his nap today. I placed his hands on the crib rail, however, he stood independently for 20 seconds. He looks pretty proud of himself!!!

Evan Playing Peek-a-Boo

All this week I would put Evan on our bed while I got dressed. He liked my satin pajamas and played peek-a-boo with them. I am going to get a piece of satin material and make him a peek-a-boo scarf. These pictures show Evan with the pajamas to play peek-a-boo and after playing.

Interesting Morning

What an interesting morning we had!! First, Gerry's alarm went off at 4:15am for him to get up to run. The alarm went off again at 4:30. Then at 4:45, the weather radio went on. Of course, this was too much noise for Evan and he woke up. He did not mind being up so early. In this picture, he is on our bed talking and interacting with Pappy G at 5:30 in the morning!!!

Napping Evan

Here is our precious grandson taking his nap. He did so well this week taking naps and sleeping at night. All we did was put him in his crib, turn on his musical aquarium and close the door. He sometimes whimpered for a few minutes, but, then went to sleep. Sometimes he slept all curled up at the top of the crib with his bottom sticking up. Evan prefers to be on his stomach now and sucks his thumb only to go to sleep. It is too precious.

Evan's Adventures Today

Evan slept through the night, however, he woke up at 5:45am. He sat and watched Grammie and Pappy G eat breakfast. After eating his cereal and taking his bottle he watched the Mozart DVD. He then had play time. In this picture Evan is playing with his BGSU Falcon football that Aunt Bon Bon and Uncle Cha Cha gave him. Evan walked to Rainbow School with me (3 miles total) to visit with a BG firefighter who wanted make a map of Rainbow School. Evan smiled at Firefighter Ryan. On our way home we stopped to visit Bryce, Nurse Megan and Miss Kim. Kim said that Evan has Italian coloring. Evan ate applesauce for lunch and is now taking a nap. I am going to try to get some things done while he naps. He misses his Mommy and Daddy and really, really needs Grammie. As long as I hold him or in his constant sight, Evan is fine. I am loving my time with my precious grandson!!!! Thank you, God!!!!!

Hi Mommy and Daddy WEDNESDAY

Since I went to bed at 6:30 last night, I did wake up about 10:15pm. Grammie gave me 4 oz. and then put me to bed at 10:45. I fell asleep by 11:00pm and slept through the night. I woke up at 6:30am. I ate my cereal and drank my bottle. I watched my Mozart DVD and played with my toys with Grammie. I am now taking my morning nap. Grammie played peek-a-boo with me. I laughed. Pappy G heard me say "Hi" to Grammie this morning. Until later.... Love, Evan

Hi again.... I ate applesauce for lunch and green beans for dinner. I took a bath and went to bed at 7:15pm. Grammie told Pappy G that I am missing you. I waved Hi at Pappy G when he came home tonight.
Love, Evan

Evan with Grammie and Pappy G

Evan is staying with us this week while his Mommy and Daddy are in San Francisco. Evan has a schedule and certain routines. I am trying to follow them. One routine that Alisson mentioned was that after Evan has his bottle, gets dressed and eats his cereal, he likes to sit in his exersaucer and watch his Mozart DVD. She was right on!!! I took this picture this morning as he was so focused on the DVD. Evan is doing very well with us this week as you can tell by reading his blogs to his Mommy and Daddy.

Aunt Bon Bon and Uncle Cha Cha

Evan's great-aunt, Aunt Bon Bon and his great-uncle, Uncle Cha Cha came to visit yesterday. They played with Evan and watched him swim (actually just kick and splash and play with his boat). We got just a small inflatable 3 ring pool for Evan, Jeremy and Mackenzie this summer. Aunt Bon Bon and Uncle Cha Cha had a lot of fun with Evan.

Evan Playing

Evan loves to play. He likes his toys and he now likes to play peek-a-boo. He laughs when I put a scarf over him and then take it off and say "Peek-a-boo."

What's New with Evan

Evan now has 3 teeth... two on the bottom and one on top. The fourth tooth on top is just starting to come through. Mommy Alisson called me tonight and said, "We just videotaped Evan saying "Da Da." Daddy Terence said, "Say Da-Da," and Evan said, "Da Da." Just last week I told Terence that I thought I heard Evan say Da-Da in his rambling of sounds. Terence was excited to hear that. Imagine how tickled he is to have Evan say "Da Da!!!" Evan visited with some of our neighbors tonight... Mr. Dick, the two Miss Kathys, Miss Laurie and Mr. Kent. He charmed them all. Evan was very interested in watching Pappy G mow the lawn. He really liked the lawn mower. Evan had a cold and fever 101.5 yesterday, however, today he has no fever and the runny nose is much better. I could go on and on about our grandson, Evan, but I will stop for now. We praise God for this wonderful gift given to us!!!!

Babies Develop Quickly

I am so amazed by how fast babies learn new skills. (I guess it is easy to forget since our baby girl will be 27 years old). It was just two days ago that Evan was sitting up by himself with my being close in case he fell over. Evan now sits and plays with toys. Here he is at Grammie and Pappy G's house playing with "Baby Einstein" toys.... of course. I love seeing him develop and acquire new skills, however, he is growing up too fast.

Grammie's Favorite Outfit

Evan is wearing an outfit that I just had to buy for him. In the picture you may see a telephone. The writing on the outfit says... That's It!! I'm calling Grandma!
Isn't that tooo cute. Also, Evan is playing differently with rattles these days. He definitely is exploring them in new ways.

Evan Sitting

Evan can now sit by himself. Although, Grammie is close to him in the pictures (in case he tumbles over), Evan is sitting up independently. What a big boy!!!!

Evan and Pappy G

Evan was very ready to play as soon as Pappy G came home. Evan and Pappy G have soooo much fun together.

Evan's 6 Month Check Up

Today I got to go with Alisson to Evan's 6 month check up. I was so touched by Alisson inviting me to go with them. I was very impressed by all of the information given to Alisson. Example: Sunscreen and types of bug repellant to use. Evan weighs 16lbs.3oz. and is 27 and a half inches long. He is tall and lean. 90th percentile for height. Evan has his 2 bottom teeth and his top teeth are starting. Evan showed off today. He laughed when the nurse touched his belly-- he is ticklish on his belly. He smiled, laughed, talked, followed the light left to right and up and down. When given the tongue depressor, Evan held on to it in his right hand and then put it in his left. The nurse practitioner said, "He just transferred it which is 7 months." I asked, He is doing fine, right? She answered, "Yes" and he is cute, too." Evan had to get three shots. I never have heard him cry so loudly and turn red. He was very upset!!!! As soon as his Mommy picked him up though, he was fine again. We are so thankful to God for Evan and his continued healthy development.

Evan is Almost 6 Months Old

I took this picture of Evan in his crib at our house. He was just fed and changed. That is why he looks so contented. EVan is wearing his Property of Mom Forever outfit that we gave to Alisson on Mother's Day. Evan is definitely a little person now. He jabbers a lot and loves to be outside. I am introducing him to the song As the Deer Panteth at the Water online.(One of my favorite songs) He sits on my lap and stares at the deer while I sing to him. It is too precious.

Evan's First Tooth

Evan was with me today for a couple of hours. He had been really drooling (which he has been doing for the past month) so I put my finger in his mouth to check if he was teething. To my surprise, I felt a front bottom tooth. When his Mommy picked him up, I asked, "Do you know what's new with Evan?" Alisson asked, "What?" I said, "Check his mouth on the bottom." She was surprised!!! Evan is growing up so fast.

Mother's Day Weekend

Hi all,
Saturday, May 9th we had Evan and J with us. Alisson, Terence and M went to a Cleveland Indians baseball game. The boys were with us from 3:30pm to 2:00am Sunday. We had a great time. Jeremy helped Pappy G make pizza. Jeremy loved the tomatoes on the pizza. Little Evan had strained carrots. Evan went to bed at 8:30pm. He coughed at 1:45am. I went in to check on him. He was wide awake and smiled at me. I changed his diaper and he happily kicked his feet. He was wide awake when Alisson picked the boys up at 2:00am. Then, on Mother's Day, Evan and all of his family came to celebrate Mother's Day with Grammie. What a special day!!!! We recalled that last Mother's Day, Alisson was having morning sickness (all day) and she did not eat much then. This year, Alisson enjoyed the filet mignon cooked on the grill. Pappy G made Evan's Great-great Aunt Marge's special hot fudge sauce for the sundaes we made for dessert. I have not gotten in the habit of carrying pictures of Evan with me, however, Terence, Alisson, M, J and Evan gave me a tiny digital picture frame to carry on my keychain. It has 92 pictures on it of the whole family. Very nice!!!!!

Evan in Motion

I captured this picture of Evan just as he was beginning to roll over. I have so much fun playing with him and of course, kissing him a lot. Evan tolerates his kissing Grammie very well.

Evan and Tummy Time

Here is Evan at our house doing "tummy time." He likes doing it now and plays with toys and looks all around.

Evan at 5 Months

Hi Everyone,
This is Evan. I am 5 months old. I can roll over from my tummy to my back and from my back to my tummy. I am starting to get my balance and strength to sit up. Grammie only uses two fingers to help me sit up. I really like looking outside at the birds, the flowers, trees and grass. On Saturday, Grammie walked me all around her yard and showed me the pretty red tulips. My Mommy has been feeding me rice cereal for a couple of weeks. The first time I ate it, I got more on my shirt than in my tummy. I am doing much better now. Mommy has added peas with my rice cereal. I like it. I like to laugh at my Mommy, Daddy and Pappy G. I cuddle with my Grammie and read books with her and she sings to me. I have a lot of fun toys to play with at home and at Grammie and Pappy G's. Grammie told me that when I get bigger she is going to always have cookies for me at her house-- chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin and sugar cookies. I don't quite know what that means, but I think it is good.
Love to all,
Baby Evan

Evan in His Camo

Here are pictures of happy Evan and then a picture showing how he can quickly become unhappy. He looks so cute in his camo jacket.

Evan Likes His Thumb

Evan is so comforted by his thumb. I think this is a darling picture of little Evan.

Evan with Grammie and Pappy G

On Thursday afternoon I had Evan with me for an hour before Pappy G. came home. I did Tummy Time with Evan, read him a book, played with him and rocked him to sleep. I loved my time with him. As soon as Pappy G came home, Evan got into the play mode. Here are 2 pictures of Evan laughing at and responding to Pappy G's silliness.

Evan's First Easter

We had a wonderful Easter at Alisson and Terence's home. Evan was a cutie. This is a picture of Evan with his Great Aunt Bon. Grammie even let Aunt Bon rock Evan to sleep. Grammie showed her how to pat his little bottom. Aunt Bon said that Evan likes to have his feet rubbed, too.
