Evan at 5 Months

Hi Everyone,
This is Evan. I am 5 months old. I can roll over from my tummy to my back and from my back to my tummy. I am starting to get my balance and strength to sit up. Grammie only uses two fingers to help me sit up. I really like looking outside at the birds, the flowers, trees and grass. On Saturday, Grammie walked me all around her yard and showed me the pretty red tulips. My Mommy has been feeding me rice cereal for a couple of weeks. The first time I ate it, I got more on my shirt than in my tummy. I am doing much better now. Mommy has added peas with my rice cereal. I like it. I like to laugh at my Mommy, Daddy and Pappy G. I cuddle with my Grammie and read books with her and she sings to me. I have a lot of fun toys to play with at home and at Grammie and Pappy G's. Grammie told me that when I get bigger she is going to always have cookies for me at her house-- chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin and sugar cookies. I don't quite know what that means, but I think it is good.
Love to all,
Baby Evan

Evan with Grammie and Pappy G

On Thursday afternoon I had Evan with me for an hour before Pappy G. came home. I did Tummy Time with Evan, read him a book, played with him and rocked him to sleep. I loved my time with him. As soon as Pappy G came home, Evan got into the play mode. Here are 2 pictures of Evan laughing at and responding to Pappy G's silliness.

Evan's First Easter

We had a wonderful Easter at Alisson and Terence's home. Evan was a cutie. This is a picture of Evan with his Great Aunt Bon. Grammie even let Aunt Bon rock Evan to sleep. Grammie showed her how to pat his little bottom. Aunt Bon said that Evan likes to have his feet rubbed, too.

Evan is 4 Months Old

Wow!!! Time flies. Evan is 4 months old. He had his four month check up with the pediatrician on Tuesday, March 24. Evan weighs 14lbs.12oz. and is in the 50th percentile for weight. His length is 26 1/2 inches. Evan is in the 90th percentile for height. He is developing just fine. Praise God!!!!
Evan is now rolling from his back to his side. He loves to play with his hands. He is just discovering his feet. When lying on his back, Evan kicks his feet on the floor and moves around. Yesterday, he was almost off of his quilt and he had started in the center. Evan plays with toys and "talks" as he is playing. I think he said "Hi' the other day. (I know it's his Grammie saying this, however, it sounded like 'Hi.)"
I have realized that Evan thinks of me as the nurturing, loving, kissing grandparent and Pappy G. is the fun one. Pappy G came home and he said Hi Evan. Evan smiled immediately and laughed as Pappy G played with him. Evan cracks up at Pappy G and he cuddles with me. That's OK with me.... I love to hold him and rock him to sleep. Evan has his own personality. He makes us laugh. We so enjoy time with him!!!

Evan Playing Part 2

Evan definitely plays with his toys now. He, also, thinks his hands are pretty cool, too. It is sooo cute to watch him play with his hands.

Evan Playing

Evan was at our house playing on Sunday afternoon. Here is Evan and Grammie playing around on the floor together. He looks so serious in these pictures. Pappy G was trying to get Evan to laugh or smile. Evan usually laughs and smiles for his Pappy G.

What;s New With Evan

Evan was with Grammie this afternoon for 4 hours. I noticed that he blows bubbles now. He is, also, bringing his knees to his chest in preparing to start rolling over from back to stomach. He is losing his hair on top and in the back. If he loses his hair, Evan will look like a bald Zach or Alisson as a baby. Zach and Alisson had no hair for a long time. Evan still has blue eyes. Evan is really a lot of fun now as he is developing his little personality and laughs at things Grammie and Pappy G. do.

Our Little Bear

I have been wanting to get a picture of Evan in this bear pram for a long time, however, whenever, he comes to our house, I am so eager to get him out of the carseat and hold him.
We call him our little bear. Isn't he too cute??!!!

Evan and Pappy G

Evan now sees in color and looks at the TV. Here is Evan sitting on the couch with Pappy G. Evan does not like the black and white movies Pappy G watches. Here they are watching PBS Noggin. He, also, focuses more on the pictures of books read to him. He is growing up too fast but it is wonderful to see his development.

Handsome Evan

This is just Evan being cute. He is wearing the outfit Grammie and Pappy G got him for Valentine's Day. It looks like a baseball outfit and of course, Pappy G thinks it looks like a Cleveland Indians outfit.

Evan and His Hands

Evan has discovered his hands. He tries to stuff his whole hand into his mouth. He has not learned that he only needs his thumb to pacify him. So silly!!!!

Evan Playing Part 2

Here is Evan playing in his bouncy seat at our house.

Evan Playing

So sorry that I have not updated the Blog for awhile. We had the interior of our home painted and I could not get to the computer. Get ready to see a lot of pictures of Evan.
Evan is enjoying playing with the water mat that Grammie and Pappy G got him for Valentine's Day.

Evan's First Slumber Party

On Saturday, Evan was with us for his first sleepover. Little J had been sick all week. So, Alisson and Terence took him to the emergency room to check for dehydration. Well, J was dehydrated so they admitted him over night. Alisson and Terence wanted to be with J because he was so scared. So, Grammie and Pappy G offered to keep Evan and M overnight. We are so thankful for our good friends and neighbors Dick and Kathy for lending us a crib when Evan was first born. It came in handy last night. Alisson brought over the monitor and set it up along with the infant movement monitor on the crib. Of course, Grammie did not trust the monitors and checked baby Evan many times during the night to see if he was breathing. He is such a good sleeper. He slept from 10:00pm straight through to 7am. In the morning, Evan did a first for me as little boys do. I was changing his diaper and he started to squirt me!!! I was so surprised. Evan just grinned. I laughed and then he did, too. He really is a good baby and pretty laid back. I still remember a trip to Iowa with Zach and he would not sleep in a strange bed in the hotel as a baby. We drove around Iowa to put him asleep because he would always fall asleep in his carseat. Thank goodness Evan was very comfortable here. J was discharged this morning and Evan and M went home around 10:45 am. We all prayed frequently for J's healing and for the doctor's skill and wisdom in caring for him. Praise God!!!
