A Day at the Zoo or Crazy Grandparents take Grandchildren to the Zoo in the Rain

We had planned to take the grandkiddos to the zoo on what was supposed to be a sunny day and 76 degrees.  Ohio weather changed to light rain.  Since we are zoo members, we thought, let's go and see how it goes.  The children were not bothered by the rain.  They did better in the rain than hot or cold weather at the zoo.  The two older ones did not want garbage bags on.  The three little ones wore the white kitchen garbage bags we brought.  We had umbrellas, too.  This photo was taken just after they had their picnic lunch under a covered area watching the elephants as entertainment.  We got to see the 17 foot crocodile without any waiting (probably attendance was down due to the rain).  We had a fun time inspite of the rain.
The grandkiddos got to choose an endangered animal to stuff themselves.  They named their animal, got a birth certificate and an empty box of food with their diet and habitat information on the back of the box.  E got a rattlesnake, J got a frog, K got an orangutan, T got a toad.
Ava did not want her picture taken with her brothers and sister.  So, here is Princess Ava with her cheetah.
We so love being Grammie and Pappy.
